Ian is a solicitor and the principal of the firm. He has gained a significant experience in a wide range of practice areas, such as property (residential & commercial), family law, debt recovery, wills & probate, licensing, and employment law, but now almost exclusively practices and specialises in the areas of personal injury law and litigation.
He holds a Diploma in Litigation and was awarded the Gallagher Shatter Prize by the Law Society of Ireland for achieving the highest individual mark in family law on the Professional Practice Course in 2007. In 2010 he was also admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales.
Prior to setting up McSweeney Solicitors he worked for a number of years in a leading Dublin 4 firm and before that for a well-established practice in Bray, Co. Wicklow. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and Dublin Solicitors' Bar Association.
